Blog Makeover~ \(^_^)/v

Assalamualaikum...

after months of trying to come out with my own design for my blog, at last I manage to change the whole blog using my own creativity...kih3!! *flip hair* =_=

this is the previous design for my blog...since at that time I am still new in the blogging world, so I just Google for 'free blog template' and among other designs, this template came out as the results...since I like the design of the header, I chose this and use it as my blog template...

after start blogging for a while then I realise that my blog name doesn't really prominent in this template...I Google for quite few tutorials on how to change the blog name but it doesn't work because this template is unchangeable template! haishh~~ and so thats the moment where I make my decision to change the whole blog design... ^_^v

my first aim was to change the header so that I can make the blog name CATCHY LIFE bigger...and then when I start blog walking, I saw some blogger have a very huge pictures in their blog...I was sooooo attracted! I want my pix to be that big as well!!~~

when I try to put my pix in the blog using XTRA LARGE option, the pix doesn't fit the template margin!! arrghhhh~~ another point for me to proceed with my desire... ngee~~ ^^,

for around 2 months I learned thru Youtube and other blogger on how to create my own design for my blog...I knew than that the easiest way was to choose 'SIMPLE BLOG TEMPLATE'...then you can do whatever you want with your blog...

you can change, add, delete the components in the HTML...just play around with it! hehhe...thats why I have another blog named TEST BLOG to play around with the HTML and the CSS...after I am satisfied enough then I just copy & paste the whole HTML from my test blog to my original blog which gives this

I just add all the text inside the pix using Lunapic editor tool...another tool that I would recommend for editing purposes...so many features inside the tool! love it too! ^_^

so far, I am satisfied and happy with my blog design...but who knows maybe in the future I might change it since I knew how to play around with HTML and CSS already...^_*v

My Bestie Birthday Celebration!! ngee~~

Assalamualaikum...

05/04/2014 was a special day for my bestie as that was her 26th birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR! LOVE U SO MUCH!! ^_^v

so I have plan few memorable things that I can do for her under my budget...coz its too mainstream to spend my money according to my wish in London...everything is too expensive...sigh~~ -_-"

few days before her birthday she requested to watch Rio 2 as that movie will be released a day before her birthday which is on 4/4/2014! 

so we plan to watch the movie and then celeb her big day after we came back from the movie...since my house is near to Westfield (coz they have Vue), so everything were set up to be at my house...the only thing that she doesn't know is that I have prepared 2 surprises for her...wee~~

I gave the priority to her to buy the movie tix...unfortunately, Rio 2 tix selling out too fast at Vue and so we switched to Captain America: The Winter Soldier :D

its written there as xtreme viewing...I thought its like a normal tix but then my bestie told me that xtreme viewing have more actions than the normal tix...the difference? I don't know much exactly but what do I know, xtreme viewing is expensive!!! hahaha

we plan everything to be at night since birthday girl will be late from her lab work...the movie started at 9pm and ended at 11.40pm which is just nice to celeb her birthday during midnight...

this is one of the surprise!! ngee~~

BUT....only 1 prob...the bakery misspelled my bestie name...sorri bestie!! kui3 ^_^v

since I already bought a 8' cake, so to top up our tit bits for the celeb, the birthday girl requested KFC...on her way back to my house, she bought a bucket of 14 chickens!!
you guys must be wondering how can the two of us finish it all?? kah3!!

thats where my second surprise came...I invite my new friend who is also a Malaysian who coincidentally living in the same building as me...she met my bestie like around 2 weeks before in the lift when she stayed overnight at my house...

oh the girl with green scarf is our friend during our undergraduate in Malaysia...but she is studying at Kings College...hehe =_="

I celebrate the birthday at my common room area...thats why you can see there is a huge tv behind it ^_^v

and my favvy photo...sweet aint??? huhu (duh I look fat! argh~)

while eating, we chit chatting...the chit chatting session was more like a ice breaking session to know each other better since even I don't know much about my newly-met-neighbour..hehe...in the middle of chit chatting session, my family wants to skype with me...so I left them and join them afterwards...

we sits there for quite a long time until my neighbour excuse herself around 1.30am but we still sit there a lil bit longer...done with chit chatting, we play inside the common room...my common room is equipped with lots of games such as UNO card, scrabble, snooker, ping pong any many more board games which I am not familiar with...deng~~

see...I'm playing snooker ^_^v

I know the way I'm holding it is wrong...wuwuwuw~~

we were enjoying ourselves until 3.30am then we headed back to my room...it was such a blessful, happening and full of fun night for me...I am also so happy that at last I can held a small celeb for my bestie...it is one of my wishlist when I came here...would be a memory that I wont forget forever~~

Dear bestie: I hope you like the celebration that I throw for you...you are the best buddy I have ever met in my life...you change myself from bad to good (you know what I mean)...I have consider you more like a sister@soulmate...I have put you in a special place in my heart...I hope, our friendship last until jannah...muah...muah...muah!!! *_*v

UKEC 2014 in London

Assalamualaikum...

on 30th of March 2014 UKEC or GRADUAN Careers Fair was held at Lancaster Hotel which is exactly behind the Lancaster Gate tube station ^_^

before the event, I had uploaded my CV in the organiser website so that if any of the company that join the event feels that I am their potential-future-employee, they can interview me straight away during the event...sadly, me and my bestie didn't received any email for any interview...I is so sad~~ T_T'

as you can see, most of the students who came here wore either suit or formal attire...but me and my bestie we wore plain t-shirt and old jeans! -_-' ngee~~

this is because most of them at least have one interview with the company that join the event...

oh btw the event is especially for Malaysian students who are in their final year...and MOST of the students who came the other day were undergraduate students...

now the pictures below will tell you why we didn't get any interview! huh~~ =_='

I am not a fond towards investment and that kind of chain...but since the woman who was on that booth said that we can too apply for that program so we hand-in our CV just to get the goody bag! kah3...the main intention of my bestie came here was just to collect their goodie bag...since I am too attracted to the EPF goodie bag, so I hand-in my CV as well... ^_^' 

the best goodie bag also came from Nestle! I got few of their products inside the goodie bag...kih3!

these (including CCM, not in the picture) were the only companies that are related to our field except for Teach for Malaysia because anyone can sign up to be part of them...I didn't sign up because I am not looking forward to teach primary and secondary school...I want to be a lecturer ^_^v ameen~~

I was wondering as why Pharmaniaga or CCM didn't call or invite us for any interview...then when I saw the job vacancy that are available that made them came to this events were also related to pharmacy, accountant and business related field students...the vacancy that were available was Pharmacist (with valid license), Executive of Public Relation, etc....etc... :(

but when I approach Pharmaniaga booth and introduce myself as a pure biology student, he was intrigued by that and ask me and my bestie to hand over our CV to him as he said maybe they have positions that match with our qualifications...and we even attended their talk that afternoon for a short briefing of what they are offering...we were hoping that the new branch that they are opening at Saudi Arabia and Indonesia will give us an opportunity...but not now as they are still expanding their network at those sites...please pray for me~~ ^_^v

there was also a session with Dato' Seri Abdul Wahid Omar, Minister in PM Office in the afternoon for all MARA students...however, I was so disappointed as I expected that he would give a talk about anything pertaining to MARA and interacting with us the MARA students...however, he keeps on and on talks about accountancy as his background also ACCA...which is not related to most of us also lah!!! 

for a moment I was wondering am I in the wrong session or did I read the entire email sent by MARA for this session that might mention about "ONLY FOR ACCOUNT STUDENTS" lol...lol...lol... -_-"

right after Pharmaniaga briefing, we headed back to have our lunch...can you see those goodie bags?? that's what I earned throughout the event!

I was just hoping that they gave us a feedback form so that I can put my comments for future event...all I can say is that the event doesn't round up for all field but mostly concentrate on business, management, engineering, account and etc...science based??? NADA!

then we had our lunch at my bestie's aunt shop at Chinatown...I had nasi lemak (all time favvy whenever I came here) and also red fish as our side dish a treat from my bestie's uncle...huhu tq uncle!! *_*

oh btw I want to promote!! if you are in London or are coming to London and for those who wana try Malaysia Traditional cuisine, please..........please do come here...the name is Kuala Lumpur Cafe situated at Chinatown at first floor...price, service and food are TIP TOP!! (disclaimer: I am not being paid ^^,)

hoping that the organiser will improve certain aspects in their event...what is the point of having us the science students here in UK but we are not being recognise when these kind of event were held...please collaborate also with company that offer career and job related to science field students...tq! eh! haha...

MARA psychometric test: 2013 vs 2014 ~~ ^^,

Assalamualaikum...

Alhamdulillah on the 20th March 2014 I have successfully sat for my psychometric test for MARA...MARA sets the exam to be at 5-7 pm Malaysia time which means 9-10 am UK time...initially I thought it will be in UK time zone...and thank God that it came to my senses that its impossible for MARA to set 2 different time zone for the test! hehe~ ^.^

just to recap that I am now studying in UK using MARA as my sponsor...so I have sat for the same test last year in 2013...so I can tell that there are vast differences between 2013 and 2014 test! pheww -_-"

2013 Psychometric Test:

The test was divided into 3 sections;

1. Section A have 50 questions...all the questions are in English
2. Section B have 50 questions...all the questions are in Bahasa Malaysia
3. Section C have 1 essay question...with the title "How do you see yourself in 5 years from now?" (if I'm not mistaken is 5 but maybe also 10 years, but they asked how do you see yourself in the future)

the test was carried out at different centres, it depends in which centre MARA allocate you for the test...Alhamdulillah I got GMI (German Malaysian Institute) at Bangi, behind the UKM Komuter Station...during the test, you need to bring all relevant documents as stated by MARA...such as any conditional/unconditional offer from the respective university that you apply for, all your certificate (Bachelor, STPM/Matric/SPM/PMR), IC of both your parents and you, and etc etc...I couldn't remember all!! \(^_^)/ huhu...

the test was quite easy...its a mixture of IQ test, personality test, simple mathematics, logic, computer applications such as 'how to close an application? the answer would be "click CLOSE" ' and many more as how its being used by certain company to search for a suitable employee...you can actually Google it, and you will find many questions regarding psychometric test in the internet...you can even test it for free thru online...thats how I did it last time...^_^v

the format was MCQ and ranking...you know ranking format questions rite???? if don't know than Google it! :D

the essay question needed you to write an approximately 50 words to explain how you see yourself in the future...most of the tips that I got from my senior and also from the fb group that time was, intrigue the examiner by stating your plan in the future that can give huge benefits to Malaysia in long run based on the course that you apply...and if I'm not mistaken I wrote it in English but I forgot whether can wrote it in both language or not...indeed it was such a havoc debate at that time of which language should we use to write the essay...kah3!!

2014 Psychometric Test:

The test was divided into 3 sections;

1. Section A
2. Section B
3. Section C not an essay!

this time the questions for section A and B was in English and in Bahasa Malaysia in section C...I really forgot to calculate how many questions for each sections because since its been done thru online (yes, you heard me, ONLINE!), so its quite hard for me to pay attentions on the questions number as my attention was fully on the time display on my laptop and also the questions... :p

the types of questions on section A and B are the same as in 2013...but they have arrange the questions accordingly by which section A concentrate more on logic, simple mathematics, riddles (I called so) and many more in MCQ format...while section B on the other hand were on personality test in ranking format with 1 fully agree and 5 totally disagree... <---here I have given how the ranking questions was! haha...

however, the major differences was on section C...for this particular section the format was not an essay anymore but more on your understanding on our country Malaysia...so read about Perlembagaan, the functions of each Badan2 Kerajaan such as Badan Kehakiman, Badan Legislatif and also about all the Prime Ministers! 

the last but not least, the main differences is, there will be an INTERVIEW for this year applicants!!! @_@ gulp~

as stated by MARA, 2014 is their first attempt of handling the test thru online...there are pros and cons by having this...I am a paper person which means that I prefer written in paper instead of on screen...so what happen was its quite hard to go back to the previous page if you wana double check or change your answer...the most inappropriate incident happened when some of the applicants print screen the questions and circulate that among their friends thru email, fb and many more as the tests was not run at the same time for every applicants...for me, it was so unethical...

during the test, I sat beside my bestie...and so I realised that the questions were similar to everyone BUT the sequence of the questions were different...thats another cons of having online test where you can sit in a pair or in a group and exchanging answers ^_*v

BUT, by having online test maybe was the best alternative for MARA...we can save our trees!!! yehaa~~ okay I'm an enviromentalist after joining AYVP last year...kih3!! =_=

bravo MARA for this first step! if it does work, please keep it up! ^_*v

oh, about the INTERVIEW, the date haven't been set yet...MARA focuses applicants in Malaysia first before they proceed with abroad applicants...for sure, it will be in April...yuhuuu!! most of the review that I read in fb page state that the interview was fun and not so formal...as I'm writing this, some of the applicants in Malaysia have done with their interview...all the best to the rest and also myself...haha \(^_^)/v

I'm a UK Blood Donor!~ =_=v

Assalamualaikum...

today marked a history in my life!!!

I manage to donate my blood for the first time in UK yaw!!! ^^,

I am a donor back in Malaysia...I have donated a few times in Malaysia which if I sum it up, today was the fourth time... :D yeay...yeay...

donating blood in UK is quite different...I need to book an appointment to the nearest centre in my accommodation area thru online using their NHS Blood Donation website...I was so surprised that Hammersmith Hospital is not in the list as one of the centres...it would be easy if it is because thats where my campus situated...pffftt~~

and so I had to choose the nearest centre which is White City Community Centre...it is 15 minutes walking distance from my house...I booked my appointment 1 month ahead before I knew how my schedule would be...it end up since last 2 weeks I was busy with my lab work...I was quite devastated when I knew that I couldn't donate my blood and I need to choose another date which usually its hard to find nearest date if you change it last minute! 

but Alhamdulillah something in my heart told me not to postponed my date until I am sure that I couldn't make it...and my heart is right when yesterday my supervisor asks me to come at 3.30pm today for a meeting with her!!! *I am so happy!!~~* 

my appointment was at 2 pm, but I reached at the centre around 1.35 pm...

after the registration, I was asked to drink 1 huge glass of plain water and wait until they call me for the routine check up whether I am eligible to donate my blood or otherwise...

while waiting, they gave me this leaflet information to read on ^_^v

I was eligible to donate my blood since my haemoglobin level is high...however, since I just came to UK last year in October, so a special nurse attended me to ask a few questions...she was not sure if I am 50 kg as that is the minimum weight if someone want to donate their blood...surprisingly they didn't weight you as one of the routine check up...and so I told her that the last time I weight myself, my weight was 49 kg which I strongly can feel that I have gained weight in that 1 month! haha...and so she believes me and I passed!!! yuhuuu~~~ ^.^

there were only 6 beds available today... ^_^v 

this is the interesting part of all!! \(^_^)/v

the first person who attended me can't find my vein on my left hand...she said that my left hand vein was too thin...so she moved on to my right hand vein and told me that that vein was much more thinner than my left hand...she end up call another person to have a look at it...

the next person also were not happy with my vein.........I is sad already this time~~ -_-"

then they call third person to look for my vein...and Alhamdulillah, he manage to find my vein and surprisingly he chose my right hand vein whereby the other 2 persons were not satisfied with my right hand vein compared to my left hand vein...weird right????

then suddenly I heard the girl told him not to take any risk....what??? what risk??? I was not feeling good already.......and so I ask him "How long have you been doing this?" and he replied "Not so long, around 15 years" :D hahaha...Okay man, go for it~~!!! ^_^v

it took only 15 minutes to finish up for the whole process...after that, I was headed to the refreshment area...they served 3 kinds of drinks; plain water, orange and lime, and chips and biscuits...I drank 3 cups of water and 1 packet of chips...the chips is incredibly nice...no worry, its vege...hehehe  ^_^'

I sat for a moment while chit chatting with one of the donor and then I saw one small bucket full of key chain...I thought that was special maybe to a regular donor or whatsoever because I didn't saw anyone took it...but since I am so attracted to the key chain, I took 1 and ask the donor beside me whether I can have it...and yeah she told me to have it as it is for the donor...yeay!!!!!

since I knew I am B+, I took that...if I flip it over, you can see its written B+ on it...I is so happy~~~ ^_^v

and now I have 2 collection of blood donor key chain; 1 from Malaysia and 1 is UK! \(^_^)/v

thought of donating again in the future...will make another appointment for the next 3 month ^_^
