Master Graduation at Royal Albert Hall!!!

Assalamualaikum...

As I mentioned in the previous post that my mom came to London to visit me the reason behind it is because my Graduation was on 6th of May!!! *happy2*

the graduation ceremony was for my Master which I have successfully completed it in 2014 with the grace and blessings from Allah S.W.T :D

since the day of my graduation falls on weekdays which is on the Wednesday, believe me or not, I still have to go to the lab...haha...told you I was busy that week :(
but I am just so lucky when our session was at 5.30pm which was the last session for that day...ample time for me to go to the lab, finish what I need to do and hurry up home and get ready for my graduation ceremony~

first let took a picture in front of the house~ >.<

we start our journey around 4pm to Royal Albert Hall of where the ceremony will be held..yeah I know its already late!! wuhuuu...

once we reached there, me and my bestie run towards the gown collection area...since we are not from the main campus, so we were not familiar with the buildings there and where it is situated...fyi, Imperial College London main campus is at South Kensington which is just infront of Royal Albert Hall :D

so we keep asking people whom just finish their session and busy taking photos...haha...right after we reached the area, we just need to give the staff on duty our gown code since we need to hire the gown for GBP55.00 yes we need to pay!!! and thats not a deposit as in Malaysia! pfftt~ -_-" apart from the rent that we need to pay for, if we want to include the graduation hat, we need to buy the hat!! aigooo..so we just went with ONLY the gown...so please dont ask why we didn't wear any graduation hat/mortar board! :D

photos with the Graduation Gown is a must! hehe...

after photo session with our family, we enter the hall as we need to be seated first...we enter the hall around 5pm...that is my seat...4 seats towards my left is where my bestie were seated :D

sharp at 5.30pm the session starts...after 2 hours of waiting, then it is our time!!!

yeah!! my name is already resonates in Royal Albert Hall~~alhamdulillah >.<

inside the hall with our friend :D

after the ceremony, I met a few of my friends...

Lombard Street & Japan Center | San Francisco

Assalamualaikum...

yes! the last post on San Franciso! :D haha

so on the last day of my stay at San Francisco, I tag along my supervisor since she told me that I can follow her with her cousin which came all the way from Los Angeles to meet her and send us back to the airport...since there are a big gap before our flight which mine was at 5pm and my supervisor was at 4pm, so her cousin brought us to quite a few places before send us back to the airport...

the first destination was Pier 1 from where we walk along until Pier 5

one day if I come to US again, I will for sure go to Golden Gate Bridge using this ferry!

while walking, we took a pit stop to take pictures of the beautiful scenery~

can you see the TRANSAMERICA PYRAMID building behind me??! it is the tallest skycraper in San Francisco and since thats the last day of my stay there, thats the nearest view I had with the building -_-"

tired of walking, we stop at Pier 5 and have our lunch...since I am quite full that time, so I only had coffee which recommended by the wife of my supervisor cousin :D

Blue Bottle Coffee

oemmgee!! its sooo delish...seriously...so guys if you come to San Francisco, make sure that you try this coffee!!! love it...better than Costa...eh! :p

I cant really remember the exact place of this shop but its at Pier 1 and facing the Golden Gate Bridge Ferry Terminal as the above picture...

right after we had our lunch, we make a move to Japan Center

nothing much to see here...it just shopping mall with the name of Kinokuniya as we have it in Malaysia as well but its a bookstore! haha...and yeah they also have Daiso!! very big!!!

move on, we went to Lombard Street of where the Most Crookedest Road in the world is situated and as I have captured it before clearly from Coit Tower

at first we want to try to use the road to go down to the main road, but since the queue is very long, we cancel it -_-"

and then later I realise that this place is in one of the movie called Playing Cool...haha :D

that marks my last destination in San Franciso :(

around 3pm, I reached San Francisco Airport...

bye San Francisco~~will come again if thats destined for me! ahaks! ^_^
since my visa expired at 2020, need to make sure that at least I used it again but to visit another part of America! :D

Bye~^_^v

[Part 3] Step by Step Studying Abroad - Renewing Passport, TB Test & VISA Application

Assalamualaikum...

done with Part 1 & Part 2, now I am going to proceed with Part 3 which is the last step ^_^

RENEWING PASSPORT

it is important to renew your passport early as it needs to be used when you are applying for your Visa...and to renew your passport at current date, you dont need to bring any passport size photo, or you dont have to wait for too long to get your passport back...now there are lots of immigration branch around plus some branches are now situated in UTC (Urban Transformation Centre)...the best thing is that you dont need to do extra job by taking passport size photo with you since they have implemented new policy which they will take your photo at the counter itself! how convenient is that isn't??? >.< and dont worry, its not necessarily that you need to wear black scarf anymore...they will take your photo black and white...why dont they implement this earlier??? hahaha

TB Test

there are only certain clinics are being approved by UK Gov for TB test and the clinics included are as shown below OR you can click here for the website

things to bring for TB test:

and the fees:

clear enough right? haha...oh btw I went to LifeCare Clinic which situated at Bangsar South...the nearest train is Universiti station and just a walking distance from the station around 10 minutes walking

upon reaching at the receptionist, you just need to present to them your passport, and they will give you a form for you to fill-in and remember to fill-in carefully with not a single mistake, if does, they will give you another form because that will be your ORIGINAL certificate AFTER the doctor have sign the form!

anything that you guys don't understand, just drop a comment or email me ya!

VISA Application

Step 1Go to this link and read all the documents that you need to prepare, the process and everything written on the website. Make sure you understand before proceed.

Step 2: Register. As you can see on the top tab, there is 2 options either you are applying for yourself or applying for someone else. Choose the right tab and click.

Step 3: Once done with the registration, the website will direct you to the main page of your application. To view the progress of your application, see the "status" and it will tell you which part of the application form that you still haven't complete yet on the "Next Step"

Step 4: Fill-in all the information needed for the application according to the section shown on the left tab. Every time you have successfully fill-in the information, click SAVE button.

if the section change from BLACK colour to GREEN colour, it means that for that particular section, you have fill-in all the information required. If not, it will still be in black colour

Step 5: Submit your application.

once you have submitted, the "Application Completed" panel will turn to green colour which means you have passed the first stage. "Next Step" is Sign Declaration. Click the button.

Step 6: Sign the declaration form. Read first!

Step 7: Once you have sign the declaration form, now you can book for the appointment. You need to choose your appointment location and later, the center of your choice. But in KL, the center for Visa is at WISMA MCA, Jalan Ampang. If you are travelling using public transport, take a Kelana Jaya Line train, hop off at Ampang Park, and follow the WISMA MCA sign. For Visa to UK, its at level 9.

Step 8: Make your online payment. The total is USD 530.00. For MARA student, not to worry, you can claim that later after your first allowance payment has been credited to your account. Produce a letter, print the online payment resit that will be sent by UKBA to your email (just print your email) and the receipt that you received at the counter when you apply for visa and send them those to the nearest MARA office at your respective country.

Step 9: Now you can print your online application! :D which mark that you are now done for the application process and just present yourself during the appointment to submit all those documents that you have print just now AND bring also a photo, original TB test certificate, renewed passport plus any previous passport that is/are under your possession, appointment letter & any relevant original documents thats already stated in the website!

OK! have done all the parts that's needed and important! now you can start applying! ^_^v

oh ya, the visa process will take around 5-14 working days for NORMAL VISA

if let say you are in a hurry and need that fast, you can apply for Priority VISA which you can ask for at the counter later when you are applying for VISA but that will cost you another RM300++ (this was last year rate) and you will get your VISA in 3-5 working days

Good luck and all the best! :D

Bye~^_^v

[Part 2] Step by Step Studying Abroad - Medical Check-up & IELTS

Assalamualaikum...

this post is the continuation from my Part 1 on Funding & Applying to University...I suppose to talk about Visa application & TB test...however, some people ask me to post on medical check-up & IELTS and so I skip that part to a later time =D

IELTS

among all the steps in studying abroad, IELTS is the most debating topic ever! some people took IELTS exam after they have secured their funding, some took it before they even apply for any funding and some took it even before they realise that they want to study abroad (ok, latter part is not true >.<)

since I am sharing my own experience, I will tell you when did I sit for IELTS and the process to it...I don't know exactly when to sit for IELTS exam but for sure this is what I did...some people might not agree with me but this is my opinion

I sat for my IELTS before I secure any funding for studying abroad...I was targeting MARA, thus before the application opens in May (If I'm not mistaken), I wana make sure that I have my IELTS result with me thus it will be easier for me to get unconditional offer (UO) from university which will help me to get MARA (because MARA prioritize candidates with UO first)...once I sat IELTS and I get the result, I apply to the university...it's important to have your IELTS result with you when you are applying to the university because thats one of the documents that is needed in order for you to get UO (can you see the relationship? university wants IELTS for you to get UO and MARA prioritise UO candidate) thats my math!

steps of applying IELTS:

I register for IELTS at IDP by walk-in...but now you can book your appointment and pay thru online which is more feasible! To book and pay, click here

you can read every information on IELTS in this website...once you know which type of IELTS that your university require, then you can proceed with the booking and preparation for IELTS

there are even Free IELTS Practice Tests  provided in this website for each elements in IELTS ie Listening, Writing, Reading and Speaking together with other preparation that is necessary for the test...do explore the website for more information!

the available test dates are also being displayed on the right hand side panel...

THE FEES & OTHER DOCUMENTS??

I am not so sure if this time they need you to download the form, fill-in the form and bring it together with you during the appointment since thats what I need to do last year...therefore, you can get the form by clicking here

MEDICAL CHECK-UP

so once you have got your MARA conditional offer, they will ask you to download lots of documents from the website...among the documents, you can start with medical check-up...which hospital that you can go to for your medical check-up isn't stated in MARA website or in the guideline...however, all KPJ are eligible for that and certain private hospital but which private hospital that MARA accept, you can go to that hospital and ask first...if they don't, then better go to KPJ since there are lots of KPJ hospital around...

since I applied MARA twice. so last year I went to Pusat Perubatan Islam Az-Zahrah at Bangi which cost me RM214 and this year I went to KPJ Tawakkal and this time around it costs me RM236 both with an x-ray test (Az-Zahrah provide an x-ray film while KPJ is in cd form), blood test, HIV test, urine test and consultation with the doctor...there is no specific reason why I change it this year, it just that KPJ is nearer to my house which I dont realise it last year...lolz!

2013

2014

MARA will need 2 medical reports from the doctor, 1 for them and another for you to keep it...so make sure that they provide you with 2 copies of the medical report

any inquiry do drop your comments ya!
