last Saturday, me, my bestie and another friend of mine, Lisia went for a cycling using the Barclays Cycle Hire service which can be found in London area...
bike station and the terminal screen at Kensington Gardens...
since we already plan to cycle around Hyde Park, we hire the bicycle at Kensington Garden...since that was me and my bestie first time, so Lisia taught us how to hire the bicycle since she already hired one previously...its so easy actually!! >.< just need to follow the instruction given on the screen of the terminal screen...
in 5 minutes, you will get the access code to hire the bike...
the receipt...
there are only 2 options, either you buy £2 for 24 hours hiring period or £10 for 7 days hiring period...I suggest that you hire for 24 hours as you can hire the bike for up to 24 hours and not to worry it's not continuously 24 hours you need to hire the bike...
once you get the receipt, it will ask whether you want to hire the bike now, click YES and the terminal machine will print out the access code for you to undock the bile from the station...dont miss this step as what happen to Lisia...haha
the 5 digits no in the slip is the access code...the instructions on how to undock the bike also stated in the slip! easy as 1,2,3!! ^_^v
then, there you go, you can cycle around London for 24 hours! haha...
BUT
every 30 minutes, you need to dock your bike at the station...just load the bike at the station and wait for 5 minutes...while waiting, you need to print out another access code to release the bike from the station..just insert your card that you used to hire the bike and they will print it for you...and YES, you need to do that every 30 minutes! quite a hassle but no need to worry as there are lots of cycle hire station around London...you can use this link for a live docking station nearby your current location...easy?! hehe ^_^'v
you can actually cycle on the road as in London they have special lane for cyclist..hoyeah!
so we did cycle on the road but couldn't take any pix as its dangerous yo! we cycle around Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park until it was too late...we stop cycling around 9pm...pfft~!
we finally dock our bike at Hyde Park Corner...this last step is the most important step!
Print out your journey summary slip as this is important to make sure that you dock your bike properly...and if anything happen, you can just show them the summary journey receipt...

I told you that I hired for 24 hours right, but the next day since we were too busy, we didn't use it at all!! such a waste~ anyway, it was indeed one of the most fun time I had...such a long time that I didn't cycle a bike...it was like ages ago I ride a bike...haha :D
will surely do that again!
